Lean Cognition is being able to identify and eliminate thought processing waste, or thought processing that does not add value to our thinking. while continually improving how we think. If we can see the waste we can eliminate it.
Eight Wastes of the Mind

Distracted – Not being present or focusing on the current task.

Ruminating – repetitively going over a negative thought or a problem.

Procrastinating -chronically avoiding difficult tasks and consistently looking for distractions.

Cognitive distortion – Jumping to conclusions without having adequate supporting evidence.

Overloaded – taking on too much information at once.

Reacting – acting without stopping to think it through. Responding is the alternative to reacting. Responding consists of well processed thoughtful response you likely won't regret.

Excess processing – overthinking.

Premature demonstration – contributing ideas for review by others that haven’t been adequately vetted.
